Reno, NV – Today, Assemblywoman Lisa Krasner announced she will run for Nevada State Senate District 16.
Lisa was first elected in 2016 and has served during three regular sessions and three special sessions of the Nevada Legislature. In her time in Carson City, Assemblywoman Krasner has served on several committees, including the Judiciary Committee, Education Committee, Health & Human Services Committee, Corrections, Parole & Probation Committee, and Natural Resources and Mining Committee.
Lisa Krasner is seeking the Nevada State Senate District 16 seat that will be vacant because Ben Kieckhefer is term-limited, creating an open seat in the Reno and Carson City area.
“I am truly grateful to my constituents in Washoe County’s Assembly District 26 who elected me to serve three terms in Carson City. I promise to continue to fight for common-sense conservative values as your representative in the Nevada State Senate,” said Assemblywoman Krasner. “During my time as a Nevada Assemblywoman, I have worked tirelessly to support our conservative Republican values, including upholding our Constitution, blocking tax increases, supporting the Second Amendment, and providing parents with a greater voice in their children’s education.”
Assemblywoman Krasner has passed several pieces of legislation that helped create a business-friendly environment, improved education, advocated for victim’s rights, protecting our children, as well as looking out for our veterans, and senior citizens. Each bill garnered bi-partisan support from every member of the Senate and Assembly .
Lisa graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California Los Angeles, and earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of LaVerne College of Law. Lisa is an adjunct professor in the Political Science Department at Truckee Meadows Community College where she teaches courses on the United States Constitution and Nevada Constitution. Lisa is married to Charles Krasner, M.D. and they have two adult children.
