Bill on domestic violence to be introduced following NV parole board’s decision on O.J. Simpson-KTNV 13 ACTION NEWS-By Katherine Jarvis- Sep 25, 2017-
As O.J. Simpson is scheduled to be released as soon as next week, a new bill is being proposed by Assemblywoman Lisa Krasner that would require the Nevada parole board to take into account the inmate’s history of domestic violence.
A news conference will be held Tuesday in Carson City with prominent attorney Gloria Allred and …the bill’s author, Republican Assemblywoman Lisa Krasner of Reno.
According to a news release from Allred’s office, Allred suggested the new law to Krasner after Simpson’s statements before a Nevada parole board hearing.
Allred’s office stated that the Nevada parole board failed to take into account Simpson’s conviction for violence against Nicole Brown Simpson, in which he pleaded no contest to spousal abuse in 1989. Allred represented Nicole’s family during the O.J. Simpson murder trial. Simpson could be released on parole on Oct. 1.
