Lisa Krasner announces candidacy for Assembly District 26-August 16, 2015 By NN&V STAFF.

RENO (14 Aug. 2015) –
Lisa Krasner announced her candidacy for Assembly District 26 for the 2016 Election. The district covers southwestern Washoe County and Incline Village.

Speaking to a gathering of supporters Thursday evening, the Reno Republican presented positions and qualifications.

“The 2015 Nevada Legislature passed a 1.2 Billion dollar tax increase” she said, adding that “the 2017 session must ensure accountability. “Nevadans overwhelmingly voted down the Margin’s tax in November 2014, by almost 80%. The people spoke at the ballot, but some of our legislators did not listen.”

“I want to be there to help restore credibility to the legislative process,” she added. “I will fight for Nevada’s hardworking taxpayers and job creators, and I will not support additional tax increases,” she said.

In the November 2014 election, Krasner ran against fellow Republican Randy Kirner, who defeated her by a mere 11 votes. Two Republicans advanced to the general election because no other party filed candidates. Mr. Kirner voted in favor of the 1.2 billion dollar tax increase, the largest tax hike in Nevada history, and has not stated his intentions about seeking a fourth term.
