This opinion column was submitted by Lisa Krasner, candidate for Nevada Assembly District 26. Her campaign website is lisakrasner.com.

Hello, I am Assemblywoman Lisa Krasner. I was first elected in 2016. I have served for two sessions in the Nevada Legislature and I am currently running for re-election for Nevada State Assembly District 26.

I worked hard for you during the 2019 Nevada legislative session, standing up for the commonsense principles that we all hold dear.

I have a reputation for working together with members of both political parties to get things done that help people in our state, improve people’s lives and address issues that are important to all Nevadans.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree from UCLA and my Juris Doctor Degree from the University of LaVerne College of Law.

Prior to serving as your assemblywoman I served as a commissioner for the State of Nevada Commission on Aging, advocating for senior citizens and retirees. I currently teach in the political science department at Truckee Meadows Community College.

I would like to continue to represent you, and move Nevada forward in a fiscally responsible way. I will continue to uphold our Constitution; support our Nevada businesses, especially small businesses; improve education; and protect victims rights; as well as looking out for our veterans, children and senior citizens.

The coronavirus has devastated our state. We need to re-open our state, re-open businesses and get people back to work.

It is an honor to represent you in the Nevada Legislature and I respectfully ask for your vote so that I can continue to fight for you.
