I first want to remind you that Early Voting begins tomorrow, Saturday, May 28, and I am respectfully asking for your vote in this Primary Election.
Due to your unwavering support for my conservative Republican principles, along with the encouragement and strength you’ve provided me these past several months, my opponent has lost confidence in his own campaign and has resorted to launching attacks full of blatant lies. How sad and pitiful.
The voters of our district deserve better, both in our campaign cycles and in the fair and honest representation they deserve during the legislative session.
A poll was done two weeks ago that showed our campaign in the lead, so my opponent, who has centered his campaign around supporting the Commerce Tax on our businesses (which I strongly oppose), has launched an attack on us, filled with lies.
My opponent is so desperate that he has resorted to telling blatant lies about me in regard to my position on school choice in education, in his recent mail piece. I have always been in favor of school choice … and you, the voters of Assembly District 26, know it.
My position on school choice remains the same as it always has been. I fully support “school choice”, Educations Savings Accounts, Opportunity Scholarships, and the “read by three” initiative … and I will strive to provide better educational opportunities for all of our children. Every child is unique; not one size fits all.
On the other hand, I am strongly opposed to Common Core and data collection on our kids. Together, we can work to protect and build upon these reforms by ensuring that every child has access to a highly effective teacher and that these teachers are recognized and rewarded for their outstanding skills.
In fact, one of the leading men defending our Education Savings Accounts in Nevada is our own NV State Treasurer Dan Schwartz. As you know, Treasurer Dan Schwartz has endorsed me in my campaign.
As your Assemblywoman, I look forward to bringing my unique experience in education to the Nevada Legislature.
We need to stand together and fight against “lies”, “politics as usual” and the “good ol’ boys” club, and get our positive message out.
